Chemistry

Matter
Anything that has mass and occupies space.
Organic Chemistry
The study of all chemicals containing carbon.
Inorganic Chemistry
The study of chemicals that do not contain carbon.
Biochemistry
The study of processes that take place in living organisms.
Analytical Chemistry
The study of the composition of matter.
Physical Chemistry
The study of the mechanism, rate, and energy transfer that occurs when matter undergoes change.
Technology
The means by which a society provides its members with those things needed and desired.
Scientific Method
A logical, systematic approach to the solution of a scientific problem.
Hypothesis
A proposed explanation for an observation.
Independent Variable
The variable that you change during an experiment.
Dependent Variable
The variable that is observed during the experiment.
Model
A representation of an object or event used to help represent experiments.
Theory
A well-tested explanation about a group of facts or phenomena in the natural world.
Scientific Law
A description of observed phenomenon in nature that appears to always be true.
Problem Solving
The process of developing a plan and implementing it to solve everyday problems.
