Belief and Knowledge

The set of convictions, viewpoints, and values which a group of people hold to be true

Change

The alteration/modification of cultural/social elements which is constantly occurring and often results from contact with other cultures/societies

Culture

A human-created system of materials, ideas, beliefs, explanations, and symbols which humans manipulate in their daily lives

Identity

How an individual views themselves internally as well as how society views them externally

Materiality

The cultural significance which people assign to objects

Power

An individual’s or group’s ability to manipulate, influence, and/or control other people or resources. It often results in imbalance between groups.

Social Relations

Any relationship between two or more people, which is imbedded within the context of a larger social network of relationships

Society

How humans organize themselves into groups/networks

Symbolism

The study of people attaching significance to objects, processes, and actions
