Bicol University Mission

The Bicol University shall give professional and technical training, and provide advance and specialized instruction in literature, philosophy, the sciences and arts, beside providing for the promotion of scientific and technological researches

Republic Act No. 9163

The law, otherwise known as the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of 2001, which establishes the program for tertiary level students.

National Service Training Program (NSTP)

A program aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing their ethics of service and patriotism.

ROTC

A program component design to provide military education trainings for student to mobilize them for the national preparedness.

LTS

A program component designed to train students in teaching literacy and numeracy skills to schoolchildren and out of school youths.

CWTS

A program design to the general welfare and the betterment of life for the member of the community or the enhancement of this facilities, especially to those devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and moral of the citizenry.

S-E-R-V-I-C-E (Dimension of Development)

Safety and Security, Education, Recreation, Values Formation, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Care and Health, and Environment.

Para-extension workers

The competencies the course aims to enhance in students so they can develop civic programs and projects anchored on different dimensions of development.

Republic Act 7077 and Presidential Decree No. 1706

The existing laws amended by the Republic Act No. 9163 for the purpose of establishing the NSTP.

Subject Proficiency

A grading component that includes Mid-Term & Final Exams, weighted at $30\%$.

Class Standing

A grading component weighted at $30\%$.

Project/Activities (Participation & Submission)

A grading component weighted at $30\%$.

Short Quizzes

A grading component weighted at $10\%$.

Final Rating Formula

$\text{Final Rating} = (\text{Mid-Term Grade} \times 0.30) + (\text{Tentative Final Grade} \times 0.70)$.
