Why does Christianity believe pre - marital sex , promiscuity and adultery are wrong?

Because sex was given by God for procreation within a marriage - Creation of humanity Genesis Chapter 1 “Be fruitful and increase in number.”

Why do Catholics see sex as a gift from god?

Catholics believe sex is to be celebrated as it is a gift from God but that it is also something to be controlled. Sex is to be celebrated in marriage and should be open to the procreation of new life. Sexuality is a source of joy and pleasure. (Gaudium et Spes 49:2) Sex within marriage is twofold: it is unitive and procreative. It is for this reason that the Church teaches that Catholics should look after the gift that has been given to them by God.

How does sex change a relationship?

The Bible teaches that when two people have sexual intercourse it joins the couple together in a special way. In Matthew 19:6, Jesus says ‘So they are no longer two but one flesh’. This doesn't just imply that the couple are physically joined together, but that the act also unites the couple emotionally and spiritually, changing their relationship so there is one entity rather than two individuals.
