Where is the Krebs Cycle
Mitochondrial Matrix
What is the Krebs Cycle oxygen requirements
Aerobic
How many reactions occur in Krebs Cycle
11 enzyme mediated reactions
Products of Citric Acid Cycle
2 ATP, 8 NADH, 2 FADH2, 6CO2
Pyruvate Oxidation right before the C.A.C Explanation
2 pyruvate oxidized to 2 molecules of Acetyl-CoA, A pyruvate takes NAD+ and makes NADH and a carbon is cleaved from pyruvate and released as CO2, then make Acetate, CoA is made using Coenzyme A
Citric Acid Cycle explanation
CoA bonds to oxaloacetate, forming citric acid which will then be oxidized. A carbon is cleaved and makes Carbon, NADH is produced/ reduced and Citric Acid a-Ketoglutaric Acid, another Carbon is cleaved and anothe NADH is produced as well as ATP, Aketo turns into Succinate and FADH is produced/reduced alongside NADH, Succinate then becomes a oxaloate
How many times does the C.A.C happen
twice, once for each pyruvate
Glycolysis and C.A.C produce
6 ATP, 10 NADH, 2FADH2, 6 CO2
