Sexuality
It is a central aspect of being human throughout life which encompasses sex, gender identities and roles, sexual orientation, eroticism, pleasure, intimacy, and reproduction.
Sexual Self
This is the part of yourself where you learn and understand your sexual development and how people’s sexual activity, beliefs, misconceptions, and unlimited access from the internet on sex can influence your own sexual behaviors and responses.
Sex
It refers to a person’s characterization as a female or male at birth, typically based on the appearance of external genitalia or other biological characteristics including chromosomes.
Gender
It refers to social characteristics that may be (or not be) aligned with a person’s sex and adopted by an individual as their gender identity
Sexual Development
Is a lifelong process that
starts at the moment of conception.
Physical Development
The beginning of adolescence is marked by rapid physical changes including the maturation of the reproductive system and the development of different sexual characteristics.
Primary Sex
These are physical characteristics that are present at birth
Secondary Sex
It develops during the onset of puberty
Hormones
Are a natural substance that is produced in the body that influences the way the body grows or develops.
Female Reproductive System
It includes two ovaries, the fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and clitoris
Male Reproductive System
It includes penis, testes, scrotum, prostate gland, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, and epididymis.
Strange Abnormalities
Any intervention with the normal pattern of sex hormone production in the embryo results
Pseudo hermaphrodites
Are formed whose individuals have accessory reproductive structures that do not match their gonads
Hermaphrodites
Are individuals who possess both ovarian and testicular tissues, but this condition is rare.
Puberty
It is the period of life, generally between the ages of 10-15 years old, when the reproductive organs grow to their adult size become functional under the influence of rising levels of gonadal hormones.
Erogenous Zones
May be classified by the type of sexual response that they generate.
Clitoris
It is considered as “the body part contributing most to sexual arousal”. This is extremely sensitive.
Vagina
Contains nerve endings and women reported that deep stimulation leads to a more intense orgasm.
Cervix
Is located at the lower end of the uterus. It has its own feel-god nerve pathways
Scrotum
Is one of men’s most notable erogenous zones. Lots of nerves mean that this area is super-sensitive to touch
Perineum
It’s the area between the anus and the scrotum, which help convey sensations of sexual pleasure from genitals to the brain.
Sexual Response Cycle
Refers to the sequence of physical and emotional changes that occur as a person becomes sexually aroused and participates in sexually stimulating activities, including intercourse and masturbation.
Desire

William Masters and Virginia Johnson
used the term sexual response cycle to describe the changes that occur in the body as men and women become sexually aroused.
Resolution Phase
A decrease in arousal occurs after orgasm, particularly in men.

Sensuality
Awareness and feeling about your own body and other people’s bodies, especially the body of a sexual partner.
Sexual Intimacy
The ability to be emotionally close to another human being and to accept closeness in return.
Sexual Identity
A person’s understanding of who he/she is sexually, including the sense of being male or being female.
Reproduction and Sexual Health
These are a person’s capacity to reproduce and the behaviors and attitudes that make sexual relationships healthy and enjoyable.
Sexualization
The aspect of sexuality in which people behave sexually to influence, manipulate or control other people. Often called the “shadowy” side of human sexuality.
Lust, Love, Attachment
There are physiological and psychological aspects in being turned on, being in love and attached to another person.
Lust
This is a phase that is driven by the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen—in both men and women.
Attraction / Love
This phase is said to one of the beautiful moments of life. This is the phase when a person actually starts to feel the love.
Attachment
A bond helping the couple to take their relationship to advanced levels. It instigates the feeling of bearing children and falling in love with them wholeheartedly.
