What happened during the Russian Revolution?
The people got rid of their king (called the czar). Then they started a new government.
What were the two main reasons why the Russian Revolution happened?
1. WWI- Russia lost many soldiers during the war. People had no food. They were hungry and starving. 2. Czar Nicholas II- He was the king of Russia. People felt he was mean and took away their rights.
Who were the Bolsheviks?
an extreme group that wanted to change the Russian government. Their leader was Vladimir Lenin
What did Lenin promise the Russian people?
Peace (end the war), land (give land to poor farmers), and bread (give people food)
What happened after the Bolshevik Revolution?
Czar Nicholas II was killed. Lenin and the Bolsheviks took control. Russia became a Communist country (the government owned everything and everyone was supposed to be equal).
