Lifespan

The length of time a species can exist under the most optimal conditions

Life Expectancy

The predicted number of years a person born in a particular time period can reasonably expect to live.

Chronological Age

Age based on the number of years since a person's birth.

Psychological age

A person's psychologically adaptive capacity compared to others of the same chronological age, including cognitive capacity and emotional beliefs about age.

Social Age

Age based on the social norms of a culture and the expectations that culture has for people of a given age group.

Environmental factors that can lead to birth defects, a primary concern during the prenatal period.

Starts at conception, continues through implantation in the uterine wall, and ends at birth
