Contact Force
Push or pull on one object by another object that is touching it
Newton’s Third Law
Object 1 applies a force on object 2, object 2 applies a force of the same magnitude but in the opposite direction on object 1.
Force Pair
The forces two objects apply on each other; set of two forces that are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.
Normal Force
Force that pushes back on an object perpendicular to the object’s surface (Fn or Fnorm)
Tension Force
Pulling or stretching force transmitted along an object such a rope or string.
Action Reaction
Forces always come in pairs; Action = Force A applies to B / Reaction = Force B applies to A; one does not cause the other but one cannot exist without the other.
Drag
Fluid resistance that opposes the motion of a body through a liquid or gas.
