Using ‘and” right after a semicolon (;) is

redundant and wrong. You either use and or a semicolon (;)

When you connect two independent clauses with a FANBOYS conjuction

you need a comma before the conjunction

For a question where it asks which answer choice fulfills a student’s goal

ignore the second sentence as it is a blurb or direction

“Nonetheless” is used

to introduce a statement that contrasts with or occurs despite the previous point.

Always look at the writing sample first.

If it has bullet points, follow the “student’s goal” step-by-step plan. If it has a fill in the blank, there is no point in reading the question

a colon is used to connect

an independent clause to a phrase that explains or elaborates on it.

When answering generalization questions

make sure the answer choice has a supporting answer
