New cards

'I’m busy'

‘Yeah, sounds like I caught you working.’ ‘Honestly, that’s usually the guys I actually want to talk to. Is it just a bad time right now, or are you saying you wouldn’t want to look at something even if it could save you time?’ If timing  ‘Gotcha. Is morning or afternoon better for 10 minutes?’

2
New cards

'We’re booked out for months'

‘Gotcha, so you definitely don’t need me dumping more random jobs on you. ‘That’s what a lot of the better contractors tell me.’     ‘If you could keep the same workload but choose higher-paying jobs and deal with less crap, would that be worth looking at?’ If yes  ‘That’s exactly what I wanted to show you. Would 10 minutes tomorrow be crazy?’

3
New cards

Objection Flow: 'I don’t need more work'

‘Totally fair. More work might actually make your life worse.’ ‘The guys doing well usually aren’t looking for just more leads.’ ‘Would you care more about getting better jobs or making the jobs you already get easier to manage?’ Restate their answer. Tie down ‘Then that’s the only thing I want you judging this on.’ ‘Is tomorrow morning or afternoon easier for 10 minutes?’

4
New cards

'I don’t want to grow'

‘Yeah, I’m not saying you need 20 trucks and a giant crew.’  ate  ‘A lot of good owner-operators want more control, not a bigger headache.’ ‘If you could stay roughly the same size but make more per job and have less fall on you personally, would you care about that?’ If yes  ‘Perfect. That’s what I’ll show you—not some grow-at-all-costs thing. Morning or afternoon better?’

5
New cards

Objection Flow: 'I don’t have enough guys'

‘Right, so more demand by itself would create a bigger problem.’ ‘That’s a common bottleneck for busy contractors.’ ‘Would it help more to get more leads or filter what comes in so you can take the jobs worth your crew’s time?’ If filtering  ‘Exactly. That’s one thing I built around. Let me show you that piece for 10 minutes.’

6
New cards

'I live off referrals'

‘Honestly, referrals are probably the best business you can get.’ ‘If you stay busy from referrals, you’ve obviously earned trust.’ ‘When somebody gets your name from a friend and Googles you before calling, are you happy with what they see?’ If no or unsure ‘That’s exactly why I called. I already mocked up what that could look like. When can you look for 10 minutes?’

7
New cards

'Referrals are working fine'

‘Yeah, I’m not trying to replace referrals.’ ‘If anything, referrals are what I’d want to protect.’ ‘Do you think any referred customers look you up, don’t see much, and quietly call somebody else?’ If maybe  ‘Right. That’s the leak I’m talking about—not replacing what works. Let me show you how I’d close it.’

8
New cards

Objection Flow: 'I don’t need a website'

‘You might not. You’ve obviously managed without one.’ ‘I wouldn’t tell you to get one just to have one.’ ‘If it didn’t just sit there—if it answered leads, followed up, and helped people reach you—would you at least look at it?’ If yes  ‘Cool. That’s the only reason I called. Morning or afternoon better for 10 minutes?’

9
New cards

'Why do I need a website?'

‘That’s actually the right question.’ ‘You shouldn’t buy one just because everybody says you need one.’     ‘What would it have to do—save time, win better jobs, or catch missed calls—for you to call it useful?’ Restate  ‘Perfect. Then judge what I built on that.’ Advance to the demo.

10
New cards

‘Websites don’t get business'

‘I actually agree.’ ‘A pretty brochure sitting online doesn’t magically make money.’ ‘If it followed up after you missed a call and helped turn that person into an estimate, would you still call it just a website?’ If no  ‘Exactly. That’s the difference I want to show you. Give me 10 minutes and judge it yourself.’

11
New cards

'I already have enough customers'

‘Good. I don’t need to convince you that you need more people calling.’ ‘Being able to be selective is the better position.’ ‘If ten customers called tomorrow, would you rather have ten more customers or quickly know which two are worth taking?’ If better customers  ‘Exactly. That’s where this makes sense. Let me show you that part.’

12
New cards

‘I answer all my calls'

‘Good—that puts you ahead of a lot of businesses.’ ‘Guys who stay on top of the phone understand how valuable calls are.’ ‘If two people call while you’re already talking, driving, or working, what happens to the second one?’

13
New cards

'They can leave a voicemail'

‘Yep, some definitely will.’ ‘Voicemail has worked forever.’ ‘Do you think every homeowner waits for your callback, or do some hit the next contractor on Google?’ If some leave ‘Right. If they instantly got a text from you, would that help?’ If yes  ‘That’s one piece I built. Let me show you.’

14
New cards

'Not interested'

‘Gotcha. I don’t want to drag you through a sales pitch.’ ‘Most owners weren’t sitting around hoping a website guy would call.’ ‘Before I mark you off, is it because you already have this handled or because you don’t see what it would do for you?’ Use their answer as the real objection

15
New cards

‘Just send me something'

‘Yeah, I can do that.’ ‘I’d rather send one useful thing than a giant sales email you’ll never read.’ ‘Would you rather get screenshots, or pull it up together for 10 minutes so you can tell me yes or no?’ If send  ‘Cool. When should I call after you’ve seen it—tomorrow or Thursday?’

16
New cards

'How much is it?'

“Yeah, fair question—you don’t want to waste time looking at something that doesn’t make sense.” “Honestly, the owners who are serious about their business usually ask that upfront.” “Are you asking because you want to make sure it’s within reason before looking, or because you’re trying to understand what exactly I’m offering?” “Completely fair. I haven’t even shown you enough for a number to mean anything yet. If you look at it and don’t see value, the price doesn’t matter anyway. Give me 10 minutes to show you what I built, and then we can decide whether it’s even worth discussing. Is morning or afternoon better?” “I hear you. It depends on whether you only want the website or want the full follow-up system too. I’d rather not throw out a random number before I know what would actually help you. Let’s look at it first, and if you like it, I’ll explain the options. Fair?”

17
New cards

'What’s the catch with the free website?'

“That’s a great question.” Honestly most contractors ask me that. What part feels like the catch to you? FREE “Gotcha—so you’re mainly wondering how I benefit from building it for free. Is that right?” “I build it upfront so you can judge my work before deciding whether you’d ever want my help with anything else. If you don’t like it, we stop there.” “Does that clear up the part you were concerned about?” “Good. Then the easiest thing is to let you see what I built. Would morning or afternoon be better for 10 minutes?”

18
New cards

'Why would you build it before talking to me?'

Acknowledge it seems backwards; associate with avoiding pre-payment requirements; ask if hearing pitch promises vs. seeing completed work first is preferred; advance to 10 minutes.

19
New cards

'I’ve been burned by marketing guys'

‘Then you should be skeptical.’ ‘Guys who’ve been burned usually ask smarter questions the next time.’ ‘What got you—bad leads, no results, being locked in, or the guy disappearing?’

(RESTATE WOUND) ‘If I showed you how this avoids that specific problem, would you look at it?’

20
New cards

'Marketing doesn’t work'

‘Sounds like something definitely didn’t work.’ ‘I’d probably say the same if I paid and got nothing back.’ ‘What did you try?’ Then ‘Was the problem that nobody called, the calls were bad, or the leads didn’t become jobs?’
Diagnose; do not defend marketing. Then connect the demo to that exact failure.

21
New cards

'Call me later'

‘Yeah, no problem. Sounds like right now just sucks.’  ‘I appreciate another shot instead of you hanging up.’ ‘So I don’t call at another bad time—before jobs get rolling in the morning, or later when you’re winding down?’

22
New cards

'I don’t have time for another system'

‘The last thing you need is another dashboard or chore.’ ‘The busiest owners are usually most sensitive to that.’ ‘If it took something off your plate instead, what would you want it to handle first?’ Restate their answer. Then Perfect. Let me show you that one thing for 10 minutes.

23
New cards

'My wife or partner handles that'

‘Gotcha, so they’re more involved on that side.’ ‘That makes sense if you’re the one doing the work.’ ‘Would you need to like it too, or would they mostly make that decision?’ ‘Let’s get both of you on for 10 minutes so I’m not playing telephone.’ How about lest say … morning or evening is best?

24
New cards

'I have to talk to my partner'

‘Absolutely. I wouldn’t want you making their decision for them.’  ‘That’s probably the responsible way to handle it.’ ‘Based on what we have spoken about, what do you think they’ll push back on?’ SET UP TIME AFTER ANSWER

25
New cards

'I need to think about it'

‘Definitely. I don’t want you doing something you haven’t thought through.’  ‘Usually that means one piece still doesn’t feel right.’ ‘What’s the part you’re least sure about?’ If vague  ‘If you had to say no right now, what would the reason be?’ Handle that real objection.
