Exergonic reactions
Chemical reactions that release free energy.
Undergonic reaction
Reactions that absorb free energy.
Activation energy
Energy needed by most chemical reactions to get started.
Catalyst
Substance that reduces the amount of activation energy needed for a reaction.
Enzyme
Substance that causes a reaction to speed up.
Solution
A mixture in which one or more substances are uniformly distributed in another substance.
Solute
The substance being dissolved.
Solvent
Substance in which the solute is dissolved.
PHscale
The scale comparing the relative concentration of hydronium thydroxide ions in solution.
Atomic number
Number of proton in an atom.
Compound
Pure substance made up of atoms of two or more elements.
Covalant bonds
Bonds that create molecules.
Molecules

Chemical bond in which electrons are transformed.
