INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER

SYSTEMS

You will learn how to disassemble and assemble a computer, as well as install the operating system and necessary program applications.

SET-UP COMPUTER NETWORKS AND SERVER

This module will teach you how to create network cables and configure the network. You will learn how to configure the router and terminate and connect cables for a workstation. This module will also teach you how to set up computer servers. This includes setting up user access, configuring network services, and performing testing and documentation procedures.

MAINTAIN AND REPAIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND NETWORKS.

This module will teach you how to plan and prepare for maintenance of computer systems and networks and inspect and test configured and repaired computer systems and networks.

OHS Policy

is simply a method of stating how you, your employees, contractors and visitors are expected to behave when they are on Company property or performing Company related activities. As an employer or responsible contractor, you are required by law to provide a ‘safe system of work’.

Occupational Health and Safety refers to the legislation, policies, procedures and activities that aim to protect the health, safety and welfare of all people at the workplace.

Do not work alone so that there’s someone who can take care of you in case of an emergency.

Always power off the computer and unplug the computer before working on it.

Take away any liquid near your working area to avoid getting electrocuted or accidentally damaging computer parts.

Be careful with tools that may cause a short circuit.

Always ground or discharge yourself before touching any part of the computer.

Do not use excessive force if things don’t quite slip into place.

Clean the area before and after using it to maintain sanitation and prevent accidents.

Hold the components on the edges and do not touch the Integrated Circuit (IC) parts.

Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with the organization’s OHS procedures and practices.

Make sure that the pins are properly aligned when connecting a cable connector.

Contingency measures during workplace accidents, fire, and other emergencies are recognized.

Use a brush, compressed air, or blower in cleaning the computer system.
