Topographic

maps are different than topographic maps, used to show data such as population, ethnicity, temperature, or economic patterns.
Choropleth
maps are a type of thematic map that uses color to show information.
Isoline
Maps use lines or "contour lines" to show information, commonly seen with graphs displaying weather.

maps are maps that show information with dots, indicating areas of high and low population density.

maps show the movement of things from one place to another using arrows.

distort the shape of maps to depict the information they are trying to show.
