Motif
Short, repeated musical idea, such as a rhythm, chord progression, or melodic theme
Melodic Phrase
A longer idea consisting of changing notes and rhythms that may or may not be repeated
Scales
An ordered set of notes moving upwards or downwards in order of pitch
Falsetto
An artificial vocal range allowing a person to speak or sing higher than their natural voice
Contour
The overal shape of a melodic phrase
Duple Meter
A meter with beats grouped in multiples of 2
Triple Meter
A meter with beats grouped in multiples of 3
Monophonic
Music with single melodic lines
Polyphonic
Music with multiple melodic lines
