Collective Noun
A noun that refers to a group acting as a single unit or as individuals, such as 'team', 'tribe', 'jury', or 'committee'.
Relative Pronouns
Words used to connect a clause or phrase to a noun or pronoun, including 'who', 'which', 'that', and 'whose'.
Indefinite Pronouns
Pronouns that do not refer to a specific person or thing, such as 'anybody', 'nobody', 'someone', and 'everyone'.
Adverbial Phrase
A group of words that functions as an adverb to describe how, when, or where an action occurs, such as 'with a hammer' or 'in the morning'.
Adjectival Phrase
A group of words that functions as an adjective to describe a noun, such as 'sweat-covered' or 'of the car'.
Modal Verbs
Auxiliary verbs that express necessity, possibility, or permission, including 'must', 'shall', 'could', 'would', and 'might'.
Present Perfect Tense
A verb tense used to express an action that happened at an unspecified time or started in the past and continues to the present, formed with 'has' or 'have' + past participle.
Ineluctable
Inevitable; unable to be avoided or resisted.
Lucid
Comprehensible; expressed clearly and easy to understand.
Tranquility
A state of peace and calm; the opposite of chaos or turmoil.
Impudent
Disrespectful; failing to show proper courtesy to another person.
Gregarious
Genial; fond of company and sociable.
Vicissitudes
Changes or alterations in quality or fortune, often referring to the uncertainties of life.
Rescinds
To retract, cancel, or nullify a contract or agreement.
Treacherous
Dangerous or hazardous, such as a raging river torrent difficult to cross.
Pandemonium
A state of turmoil, wild uproar, or crazy noise.
Sagacity
The quality of having or showing keen mental discernment and wisdom.

To sift out or remove unusable or unwanted items.
Hamming up
Acting in an exaggerated way specifically to make people laugh.
Turn down
To rebuff or reject an offer.
Break off
To end a relationship.
Fill in for
To act as a stand-in for someone else at work.

To successfully pass or surpass an examination.

To discover or encounter something, such as words in a dictionary, by chance.
