Form Parade Sequence and Combat Spread Maneuvers

Crossunder

1. Wing SNFO recommends crossunder

2. Lead IP gives crossunder signal

3. Wingman reduces power, slides back for 20 feet of nose-tail separation

4. Wing uses power to maintain separation, passes behind lead’s 6 o’clock

5. Once, properly established on opposite side, slide up and forward to assume parade

Lost sight exercise (away from)

Performed in a parade turn.

1. Lead SNFO “Raider standby lost sight exercise.”

2. Lead SNFO to pilot: “Recommend lost sight exercise.”

3. Lead IP: “Raider 12, go simulated lost sight.”

4. Wing SNFO to pilot: “Roll out”

5. Wing IP: “Raider 12, lost sight, rolling out

6. Lead IP: “Raider 11” “Raider 11 rolling out 090”

7. Wing IP: “Raider 12”

8. Lead IP: “Simulated climbs and descents, simulated 30 seconds, Raider 12 cleared to heading 090.

9. Wing IP: “Raider 12”

Lost sight exercise (into wing)

1. Lead SNFO “Raider standby lost sight exercise.”

2. Lead SNFO to pilot: “Recommend lost sight exercise.”

3. Lead IP: “Raider 12, go simulated lost sight.”

4. Wing IP: “Raider 12 lost sight.”

5. Lead IP: “Rolling out heading 100”

6. Wing IP “Raider 12” “Raider 12 rolling out 070”

7. Lead IP: “Simulated climbs and descents, simulated 30 seconds, Raider 12 cleared to heading 100.”

8. Wing IP: “Raider 12”

Breakup and rendezvous

1. Lead SNFO recommends lead IP give runup signal, kiss off signal.

2. Lead IP executes 180 degree turn away from wingman.

3. Wing IP waits 3 seconds, breaks, calls “in trail.”

4. Lead IP conducts 30 degree AOB turn on alt., on airspeed.

5. Wing waits until lead is outside prop arc, follows with own turn.

6. Wing maneuvers with AOB to get inside lead, then crosses under to away from

Tail chase

1. Run up, thumbs up, kiss off. Lead: 180 degree break.

2. Wing: 3 second delay, break after, call “on trail.”

3. Lead calls: fights on.

4. Steep reversals, climbs, etc.
