Environmental Value System (EVS)

a worldview or paradigm that shapes the way an individual or group perceives and evaluates environmental issues, influenced by cultural, religious, economic, and socio-political context.

Ecocentrism

nature-centred, puts ecology and nature at the centre of humanity, believes humans are subject to the same laws

Anthropocentrism

human-centred, sees humans as managers/stewards of the environment, believes sustainable use of resources is possible through careful management and regulation

Technocentrism

technology-centred, sees humans as separate from and in control of nature, believes science and technology can solve environmental problems.
