What is Primary Data?

data that is collected ‘first hand’ by a researcher for the purpose of their study

Specifically gather the info needed for the research and therefore it is very relevant

Requires the time and effort of the researcher, thus can be expensive

What is secondary data?

data that is not personally collected by the researcher but used by them in their research.

What is Meta Analysis?

A research method that combines and analyzes data from multiple studies on the same topic to identify overall trends.

What is an Independent variable?

A variable that is manipulated or altered by the experimenter

Describe the dependent variable?

This variable is the main measured outcome of the experiment

Describe the Extraneous variable

A variable that may have an effect on the dependent variable if it is not controlled

What is a participant variable?

this variable are any individual differences between participants that may affect the DV

what is a situational variable?

This variables are any features of the experimental situation that may affect the DV
