Air Conditioning Failures

If the air conditioning fails to operate correctly or is exhibiting abnormal behavior:

Air conditioning power button..................................................press/hold (3 seconds)

If an overload condition occurs, the air conditioning unit circuit breakers may trip. These breakers are located on the air conditioning system plenum in the baggage are of the aircraft and shall not be reset until the aircraft returns to the ground and maintenance is notified.

Electrical Power Supply System Malfunctions (HIGH VOLTS)

M BUS VOLTS More Than 32 or M BAT AMPS More Than 40

Alternator switch.......................................................................................................off

The Main Battery supplies electrical power to the Main and Essential Buses until M BUS VOLTS decreases below 20 volts. When M BUS VOLTS falls below 20 volts, the Standby Battery System will automatically supply electrical power to the Essential Bus for at least 30 minutes.

Air conditioning (if installed).....................................................................................off

Electrical load ....................................................................................reduce as follows

− Avionics switch (bus 1).......................................................................................off

− Pitot heat............................................................................................................off

Low Voltage at High RPM (LOW VOLTS / STBY BATT)

Illumination of LOW VOLTS on the annunciator may occur during low RPM conditions with an electrical load on the system, such as during a low RPM taxi. Under these conditions, the light will extinguish at a higher RPM, not requiring a recycling of the Master Switch since an overvoltage condition has not occurred. Set throttle for 1000 RPM. If the LOW VOLTS annunciator remains illuminated, Fleet Maintenance department must perform electrical system inspection prior to flight.

Emergency Operation in Clouds

If the engine-driven vacuum pump fails in flight, the standby attitude indicator will not be accurate. The pilot must then rely on the attitude and heading information (from the AHRS) shown on the PFD indicators.

If the AHRS unit fails in flight (red Xs shown through the PFD attitude and heading indicators), the pilot must rely on the standby attitude indicator and non-stabilized magnetic compass for attitude and heading information.
