Modernisation = becoming more modern.

Positive and Negative of modernisation

Positive: Better Healthcare, improved living standards, Economic Growth

Negative: Increase Inequality,

Improved health care, digital technology, Urbanisation.

Define westernisation

the process whereby aspects of culture from the UK, western Europe and north America spread throughout the world

westernisation = becoming like the west, in culture or lifestyle.

Define Urbanisation

the process of cities growing and the proportion of the population living in urban areas in high density living. Process is driven by a shift of people from rural to urban area.

Define Industrialisation 

The process of a society moving from a primarily agrarian (farm base) economy to a manufacturing-based economy.

Globalisation

the process of integration, sharing of goods, knowledge, leisure

Positive: Sharing of cultures, Democracy (rule by the people)

Negative: Loss of culture> weaken view + values, economic inequality
