Dorsal Plane- a plane that divides the body into dorsal (back) and ventral (belly) parts.

Median Plane- a plane that divides the body into equal left and right halves.

Sagittal Plane- a plane that divides the body into unequal left and right parts.

Transverse Plane- a plane that divides the body into cranial (head) and caudal (tail) parts.

Dorsal- relating to the back or upper side of an organism.

Ventral- relating to the front or lower side of an organism.

Medial- towards the midline of the body, indicating a position closer to the center than other structures

Lateral- away from the middle line of the body or on the outer side of a limb

Cranial- toward the head or anterior part of the body

Caudal- toward the tail or posterior part of the body

Rostral- situated toward the nose, muzzle, or beak

Caudal- moving away from the nose and back toward the rear of the skull
