It was a waterway in Egypt for ships or boats to easily pass by without going other ways that would take a very long time. It was controlled by Egyptian leader Nasser

Britain, France, and Israel started attacking Egypt but then Khrushchev threatened nuclear weapons if Britain and France didn’t withdraw.

Canadian PM Pearson, a hero for it said that Britain and France would withdraw but let the rest of UN stay. All 57 UN members voted for it

When Castro took over Cuba, made it a communist country then US was afraid of it. USSR then gets involved and and JFK is even more scared.

What did Castro do to Cuba?

He implemented free healthcare, free schools, housing, food, also killed any civilian who was against him or that’s homosexual. He also made a deal with soviets to team up against US, by placing bombs on Cuba aiming for US’s major cities.

when 5 of the known kidnappers was granted safe access to Cuba by the Canadian government and by Castro but some were still hiding in Quebec then arrested. Also ended when Trudeau revoked the war measures act.

When Quebec had controversy’s whether it should become an independent state or not. There was a vote for this and it was very close of becoming an independent state. Then later the federal government said to recognize Quebec as a distinct society.
