The verb used to describe identity and to tell time in Spanish.
yo soy
I am.
tú eres
You are (informal singular).
usted es
You are (formal singular).
él es
He is.
ella es
She is.
nosotros somos
We are (masculine or mixed group).
nosotras somos
We are (feminine).
vosotros sois
You all are (informal plural in Spain).
ellos/ellas son
They are; you all are (formal plural).

What time is it?

It is one o'clock.
Es la una y cuarto
It is one o'clock and a quarter.
Es la una y media
It is one o'clock and a half (1:30).
Son las dos
It is two o'clock.
Son las doce menos quince
It is twelve minus fifteen (11:45).
Son las ocho y media
It is eight thirty.
Son las seis y cuarto
It is six fifteen.

At one o'clock (used with singular hour).
a las dos
At two o'clock (used with plural hours).
de la mañana
In the morning.
de la tarde
In the afternoon.
de la noche
In the evening/night.
el mediodía
Noon.
