Manuscript
The Book of Kells, sometimes called the "work of angels" is the most highly decorated illustrated Gospel manuscript from the early Middle Ages. Likely, the book was created at a monastery by Celtic Irish monks on the Scottish Island of Iona, founded by St. Columba.The pages are made from vellum (prepared calfskins) 185 in total.
