Magnetic Material
A material that is easily magnetized.
Iron vs. Gold (in context of magnets)
Bar A is made of iron because iron is a ferromagnetic material that becomes magnetized.
Polarity
The end of a magnet that is identified as either north or south.
Magnetic Field
A region around a magnet where magnetic forces can be detected.
Magnetic Field Pattern
The visual representation of how magnetic field lines are oriented around a magnet.
Non-contact Force
A force that acts on an object without physical contact, such as magnetic force.
Examples of Magnetic Forces
Devices like credit card strips, magnetic compasses, and refrigerator magnets utilize magnetic forces in everyday life.
Force vs. Distance Relationship (Magnetic)
The magnetic force decreases as the distance between two magnets increases.
Magnitude of Magnetic Force
The force between two magnets changes with their separation distance; when 4 cm apart it's specified based on the force graph.
Polarity of Pole 2
The pole's identity (N or S) can be determined by its interaction with another known magnet.
