ACTIVE: You're scanning the pool from a roving station, at ground level, and you notice an active drowning victim facing away from you.
1.) Rescue Ready (2). Loud EAP (2)
2.) Stride Entry: proper form (2), head stays above surface (2).
3.) Approach: approaches quickly (1), using the front crawl technique (2), communicating as they get near (2)
4.) Reaches under victim's arms (2) and grasps shoulders firmly (3)
5.) Leans back to support victim on tube (2), while tube remains under rescuer's arms (3)
6.) Able to quickly and effectively tow victim towards exit.
7.) Communicates with victim while moving towards exit

Sings of an Active Drowner
Head low in the water with the mouth at or near the surface, a tilted head with an open mouth, and a vertical body position with little to no leg movement. They might also have a glassy or empty stare, be unable to call for help, and appear to be climbing an invisible ladder
