Chalazion (eyelid cyst or a meibomian cyst)

A painless, round, firm, benign lesion within the tarsal plate caused by blocked meibomian glands.

warm compress, massage, chloramohenicol onitment if inflamed incision and curettage

Internal hordeolum

A tender swelling with inflammation caused by an abscess of the meibomian gland, usually due to Staphylococcus. may discharge through the skin or conjunctiva.

External hordeolum (stye)

An infection of skin appendices, usually a Staphylococcal abscess of an eyelash follicle and the associated gland of Zeiss or Moll.

Gland of Zeiss or Moll

Specific glands associated with the eye lash follicle that can be infected in an external hordeolum.

Herpes zoster ophthalmicus

Shingles involving the eye or surrounding area, presenting with painful vesicles, pustules, and periorbital oedema.maybe bilateral

An eye infection caused by HSV that severe infection can lead to scarring of the cornea or blindness.
