Dispersion forces
Operate in all molecular substances and increase with molecular mass due to the increased number of electrons, leading to higher boiling points.
Dipole-Dipole forces
Polar molecules have both dispersion forces and these forces, resulting in higher boiling points compared to non-polar molecules of the same mass.
Hydrogen bonding
The strongest of the secondary interactions, occurring in molecules with H-N, H-O, and H-F bonds.
Ion-dipole forces
Attraction between ions and polar molecules.
