Charity Scams
Fraudulent scams in which an emotional appeal is made to the victim, along with a sense of urgency to do something good in order for the scammer to obtain money easily.
Lottery Scams
Scams in which the victim is told they have won a prize but their information is required.
Impostor Scams
Scams in which somone pretends to be someone the victim knows, such as your Unc, who needs money for his surgery.
Debit Relief Scams
Scams in which someone broke like a college student in debt because the US spent all their money on some goofy ahhh next geration warship or helicopter program and then cancelled it for no good reason promises to help the victim reduce or eliminate their debts, often requiring upfront fees.
Phishing Scams
Scams that involve tricking victims into providing personal information, such as passwords or credit card details, by pretending to be a trustworthy entity.
Employment Scams
Scams that involve job offers that are often too good to be true, requiring payment for training or materials before employment.
Grandchild Scams
Scams that target Uncs and grandmas by posing as a grandchild in distress, often requesting money to help with emergencies or legal issues.
Investment Scams
Scams that promise high returns on investments with little risk, often involving unregistered securities or Ponzi schemes.
Emergency Scams
Scams that exploit urgency by posing as a crisis situation, often claiming a loved one is in trouble and requesting immediate financial assistance.
Tech Support Scams
Scams that involve fraudsters posing as technical support representatives, convincing victims to pay for unnecessary services or install software to 'resolve' non-existent computer issues.
IRS Scams
A type of scam where fraudsters impersonate tax agents, threatening victims with criminal charges or tax liabilities to extract personal information or payments.
Extended Car Warranty Scams
Scams that claim to offer extended warranties for vehicles, often targeting owners with calls or mailers to obtain personal and financial information.
Catfishing Scams
A type of scam in which criminals exploit emotional feelings through online relationships to gain trust and ultimately request money or financial information from their victims.
Free Trial Scams
Scams that offer a free trial for a product or service, often requiring payment information upfront and then charging recurring fees without the customer's consent or knowledge. For example, Discord’s “fReE nITrO“ offer.
Free Scams
Scams that appear to offer products or services for completely free of charge but often involve hidden fees or deceptive practices to extract personal information or money from victims.
Kickstarter Scams
Scams exploiting crowdfunding platforms where scammers create projects to solicit funds from unsuspecting backers, often promising unrealistic returns or products, or products that are never released.
Giftcard Method
An extraction tactic used in scams where victims are instructed to purchase gift cards and provide the scammer with the card numbers and PINs as a form of payment. Effective for old people only.
Cryptocurrency Method
An extraction tactic used in scams involving the use of digital currencies, such as fake cryptocurrencies or funds in cryptocurrency format. Effective for idiots and X users. (Basically bigger idiots)
Balance Transfer Method
An extraction tactic used in scams where victims are tricked into transferring balances from their credit cards or bank accounts to fraudulent accounts. Effective for dumb adults.
