Congruent Triangles
Triangles that have the same size and shape; all corresponding sides and angles are equal.
Triangle Angle Sum Theorem
The sum of the interior angles of any triangle is always 180 degrees.
Exterior Angle Theorem
An Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the two opposite interior angles.
Exterior Angles of a Polygon
Sum is 360 degrees.
Interior angles of a polygon
Sum is 180( n - 2 ).
Vertical Angles
Angles opposite each other when two lines cross. They are always equal.
Adjacent Angles
Angles that share a common side and vertex and don’t overlap.
Complimentary Angles
Two angles that add up to 90 degrees.
Supplementary Angles
Two angles that add up to 180 degrees.
Isosceles Triangle
A triangle with at least two equal sides and two equal angels.
Equilateral Triangle
A triangle with all sides and angles equal. (Each angle is 60 degrees).
Right Triangle
Triangle with one 90 degree angle.
Hypotenuse
The side opposite of the right angle; largest side.
Leg
One of the two sides that form the right angle.
Pythagorean Theorem
In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal of the squares of the legs.
