Vocabulary of Islamic Theology - Four Essential Rules Preface

Allah

The Lord of all worlds, the only true God deserving of worship, from whom guidance, help, and forgiveness are sought.

Muhammed

The slave and messenger of Allah, upon whom be prayers and peace ($sallallahu\,alejhi\,ve\,sellem$).

Ibadet

Worship, humility, and submission to Allah; it is the sole purpose for which humans and jinns were created according to Sura Ez-Zarijat, verse $56$.

Tevhid

The most important principle and foundation of Islam, involving the knowledge and confession of the oneness of Allah and worshipping Him alone.

Širk

The act of associating partners with Allah in worship; it is described as the greatest injustice ($zulum\,veliki$) and a sin that Allah will not forgive without repentance.

Tagut

False deities, idols, or anything worshipped instead of Allah, which every messenger commanded their people to avoid.

Fitra

The innate religion or natural disposition of a human being; shirk is described as a poremećaj (disorder) of this innate state.

Zulum

Injustice or oppression; specifically, shirk is identified as a great injustice in Sura Lukman, verse $13$.

Džennet

Paradise, which Allah has forbidden ($harram$) to those who associate partners with Him in worship.

Džehennem / Vatra

Hellfire, the final abode and eternal residence for those who attribute partners to Allah.

Mesih

The Messiah (Jesus), son of Merjem, who called the Children of Israel to worship Allah, his Lord and their Lord, according to Sura El-Ma'ide, verse $72$.

Ashabe

The noble and generous companions of the Prophet Muhammed who followed him in goodness.
