Physical Development
Changes in body structure and functions.
Cognitive Development
Changes in thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Emotional Development
Changes in feelings and emotional responses.
Social Development
Changes in relationships with others.
Pre-natal Period
Spans from conception to birth; focuses on the development of the body and brain.
Infancy
From birth to 2 years; characterized by the development of Motor Skills and attachment to caregivers.
Early Childhood
The stage involving developments in language, basic self-care, and social skills.
Middle Childhood
The stage involving the development of school-age thinking skills and peer relationships.
Adolescence
From 12-18 years; marked by development of identity, independence, and abstract thinking.
Early Adulthood
From 19-29 years old; characterized by peak performance and health, financial independence, and forming intimate relationships.
Middle Adulthood
From 30-60 years old; involves noticeable physical changes like graying hair and reevaluating life goals (midlife crisis).
Late Adulthood
From the 60's and above; a time for adjustment to decreasing strength and health, life review, and retirement.
