Sinus Rhythm
The normal heartbeat rhythm of the heart, where each heartbeat is initiated by the sinoatrial node.
Atrial Flutter
A type of heart rhythm disorder where the atria beat rapidly and irregularly, characterized by 'flutter waves' with a possible 3:1 block.
Ectopic Atrial Flutter
An extra heartbeat occurring in the atria that leads to a rapid and irregular atrial rhythm.
J Wave
A wave seen on an EKG, most commonly associated with early repolarization, typically caused by hypercalcemia.
U Wave
The U wave appears after the T wave on an EKG and is usually caused by hypokalemia.
Atrial Fibrillation
A condition where the upper chambers of the heart (atria) beat irregularly and rapidly.
Heart Block
A condition in which the electrical signals in the heart are partially or totally blocked, categorized into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree heart blocks.
2nd Degree Heart Block
A type of heart block in which some electrical signals from the atria to the ventricles are blocked, leading to irregular heartbeats.
