Human Dignity
1) Every person is made in image of God
2) All have inherent dignity b/c we are human an cannot be diminished by any other factors (age, ability, ethnicity, economic status etc)
The common good
Aiming for the needs of all people to be met for the opportunities to flourish and be fulfilled in all dimensions (HWB)
Preferential option for the poor
Decisions made with the needs of the poor in mind such a public policy. This consideration is essential to societies effort to achieve common good.

Subsidiarity
Government should be performed at a level closest to the people who are affected by the decisions and policies
(w/out hinderance to quality and authority and meeting people’s needs - higher levels can intervene)
Participation
(Related to subsidiarity)
Everyone has a right and duty to participate at all levels of society (economically, politically, culturally, and religion)
It is a fundamental demand of justice and human dignity
Stewardship of Creation
The goods of earth are gifts from God intended for benefit of everyone. With this comes a duty if care for creation and each gift to contribute to the common good
Global solidarity
We are all interconnected, called to work globally for justice. To respect and promote personal, social, economic and political rights of the nations and all people
Promotion of peace
Promote peace as a positive, action-oriented concept. Involving collaboration and binding agreements. Everyone has the duty to respect and collaborate in personal in local, national and global rel.
Strong connection b/w peace and justice
Universal purpose of goods
The earths resources serve every person’s needs regardless of who ‘owns’ them. To not accumulate excess individual wealth.
(Justice demands ALL people have access to goods of society and be EQUALLY shared in order for all to ‘flourish’)
