Prokaryote
A single-celled organism that does not contain membrane-bound organelles.
Eukaryote
Any organism whose cells contain membrane bound organelles; can be single-celled or multicellular.
Domain
The highest taxonomic level, consisting of three groups: Eubacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryotes.

Carl Woese's Three Domains of Life
Eubacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryotes.
Kingdom Eubacteria
A kingdom of prokaryotes whose cell walls contain a unique compound, reproduce asexually, and comprise over 10,000 described species.
Kingdom Archaea
A kingdom of prokaryotes with unique cell wall and membrane structures. Found in extreme environments or animal digestive tracts.
Kingdom Protista
The most diverse eukaryotic kingdom, consisting mostly of unicellular organisms and multicellular species. Only kingdom that does not represent a single clade.
Amoebozoa
A group of amoeboid protists closely related to fungi and animals than to algae.
Extreme Thermophiles
Organisms belonging to the domain Archaea that thrive in environments with extremely high temperatures.
