Media
A physical instrument, means, substance, or institution through which information is carried, transmitted, or sent. In communication, it's the technical or physical means of converting a message into a signal for transmission.
Literacy
A fundamental human right and the foundation for lifelong learning.
Medium
The singular form of "media," referring to the instrument, means, substance, or institution through which information is carried, transmitted, or sent.
Category of Media: Presentational Media
The communicator themselves acts as the medium through their voice, face, and body.
Example: Text, image, and videos

Refers to recordings of media.
Example: Magazines, books, photographs, architecture.

Enables a person to use and operate computers as information processing machines
Skills Encompassed:
Hardware literacy, Software literacy, Application literacy.
Hardware Literacy
Skills needed to run basic operations to operate devices like desktop computers, tablets, smartphones, televisions, radios, and other media/information devices.
Software Literacy
The ability to use software (programs, procedures, routines, instructions) needed to operate a computer system.
Types of Software:
Application software (e.g., web browsers, word processors)
Computer programming tools
Network software
System software (e.g., operating systems, antivirus)

Knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently use software packages like personnel management and inventory management software.
