‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light” and there was light.’ (Genesis 1:1-3)

interpretation that speaks of G-d as the Creator, of the Spirit of God that was hovering over the waters, and of the Word spoken by God to begin the process of creation.

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.’ (John 1:1-3

some believe it refers to God the Son who was the creative Word spoken by God at the start of the universe. John means that the Word is to be understood as Jesus, God the Son.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.“ Matthew 28:19

This verse is a foundational text for understanding the Trinity, as it instructs believers to baptise in the name of all three persons of G-d
