Physical Geography
A branch of geography that studies the human-independent natural environment, including atmosphere, landforms, ecosystems, and natural hazards.
Types of Precipitation
The four types of precipitation mentioned are rain, snow, sleet, and hail.
Landforms
Natural features formed on Earth such as rivers, deltas, mountains, and volcanoes.
Natural Hazards
Sudden environmental changes including storms, floods, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes.
Ecosystems
A community consisting of plants, animals, soil, and climate.
Human Geography
A branch of geography focusing on population, settlements, and economic activity.
Population Distribution & Density
The study of where and how many people live in specific areas.
Settlements
Classified into Rural (Villages) and Urban (Cities).
Primary Economic Activity
Economic activities centered around farming.
Secondary Economic Activity
Economic activities centered around manufacturing.
Tertiary Economic Activity
Economic activities centered around services.
Environmental Geography
A branch of geography covering resources, environmental misuse, and conservation.
Renewable Resources
Resources that can be naturally replenished, such as solar, wind, and water.
Non-Renewable Resources
Resources that cannot be easily replaced, such as coal, oil, and minerals.
Environmental Misuse
Human-driven damage such as deforestation and pollution (air, water, noise, and visual).
Conservation
Efforts to manage and protect the environment, often involving laws and National Parks.
