Article I 1

The legislative branch of the government responsible for making laws, consisting of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Article II 2

The executive branch that manages day-to-day government operations, led by the President, who is responsible for enforcing laws and military operations.

Article III 3

The judicial branch that outlines the federal court system, establishing the Supreme Court as the court of last resort with lifetime appointments for judges.

Article IV 4

The States. This article defines the relationship between the states and the federal government.

Article V 5

Amendment. Future generations can amend the Constitution if the society so requires it. Both the states and Congress have the power to initiate the amendment process.

Debts, Supremacy, Oaths.

Article VII 7

Ratification. This article details all those people who signed the Constitution, representing the original 13 states.

Freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition.

2- Second Amendment

Right to bear arms.

3- Third Amendment

Citizens do not have to house soldiers.

4- Fourth Amendment

No unreasonable search or arrest.

5- Fifth Amendment

No double jeopardy or no witness against yourself

6- Sixth Amendment

The right to a speedy and public trial

7- Seventh Amendment

The right to a jury trial in civil matters of $20and over.

8- Eighth Amendment

No excessive bail or cruel punishment.

9- Ninth Amendment

People get rights not listed in Constitution

10- Tenth Amendment

Any rights not given to federal government are given to the states and people.

11- Eleventh Amendment

Individual cannot sue a state in a federal court.

12- Twelfth Amendment

Separate ballots for President and Vice President.

13- Thirteenth Amendment

Abolished slavery.

14- Fourteenth Amendment

Born/naturalized in the U.S. then you are a citizen of the U.S. Incorporation of Due Process and Equal Protection

15- Fifteenth Amendment

You cannot prevent a person from voting because of race, color, or creed.

16- Sixteenth Amendment

Income tax.

17- Seventeenth Amendment

Popular election of U.S. Senators

18- Eighteenth Amendment

Prohibition

19- Nineteenth Amendment

Women get the right to vote.

20- Twentieth Amendment

President takes office on January 20th instead of March 4th.

21- Twenty-first Amendment

Repeal Prohibition.

22- Twenty-second Amendment

President can only serve two terms.

23- Twenty-third Amendment

Washington D.C. residents can vote for president.

24- Twenty-fourth Amendment

Anti poll tax.

25- Twenty-fifth Amendment

Lays down the rules for who becomes president if the president dies/resigns etc.

18 year olds get to vote.
