Graduated Cylinder
A tall, narrow container with markings. It provides a more precise measurement than beakers or flasks, often used when accuracy is critical.
Burette
Used for titration processes, and it also measures the precise volume of a liquid added to a solution.
Pipette
Transfers and measures small volumes of liquid. Come in various types, each designed for specific levels of accuracy.
Thermometer
A device that measures temperature typically contains a liquid that expands and contracts with temperature changes.
Bunsen burner
A small, adjustable gas burner that produces a single open flame. It is commonly used in labs for heating, sterilization, and combustion purposes.
Alcohol Lamp
Used for heating, sterilization, and combustion in a laboratory. Uses ethyl alcohol or spirit as fuel.
Hot Air Oven
Essential laboratory equipment that uses dry heat to sterilize laboratory objects and samples.
Hot Plate
An electrically powered device with a flat surface that heats substances placed on top. It is used for gentle heating.
Beaker
A cylindrical container with a wide mouth and flat bottom. Often have a lip for easy pouring and are available in various sizes.
Magnetic Stirrer
A device that uses a rotating magnetic field to spin a stir bar placed in the liquid, mixing it without the need for manual stirring.
Test Tube
A small glass tube is used to hold, mix, or heat small quantities of liquid or solid chemicals. Are often used in qualitative experiments.
Erlenmeyer Flask
It has a broad, flat base and a conical body that tapers upward into a cylindrical neck. It is used for mixing by swirling without risk of spilling.
Spectrophotometer
Instrument that measures the amount of light absorbed by a sample at different wavelengths.
pH Meter
Instrument used to measure hydrogen ion activity in solutions. This instrument measures the acidity or alkalinity of a solution.
Test Tube Rack
A stand used to hold multiple test tubes upright, preventing spills and making it easier to organize samples during an experiment.
Tongs
Long, scissor like tools used to grip and lift hot or hazardous objects. Tongs are essential for handling items that are dangerous to touch directly.
Retort stand
Used to attach clamp that holds test tubes and other equipment. It is used for titration, distillation and filtering of samples.
Tripod
Three legged platform used to support flasks and beakers. usually made of stainless steel or aluminum.
