Globalization

The process by which cultural elements spread from one society to another.
Direct Diffusion
Cultural diffusion that occurs through face-to-face contact, such as trade or migration.
Indirect Diffusion
Cultural diffusion that occurs through media, the internet, or globalization.
Forced Diffusion
Cultural diffusion that occurs when one culture imposes its practices on another, such as colonization.
Cultural Homogenization
The process wherein diverse cultures blend and lose their unique identities, often leading to a uniform culture.
Cultural Hybridity
The blending of elements from different cultures, such as fusion food or music.
Cultural Relativism
Understanding a culture based on its own values and context.
Ethnocentrism
Judging another culture using your own cultural standards, which can lead to prejudice.
Modernization
The process by which societies transition from traditional ways of life to more industrial and technological systems.
