Normal Adult Vital Signs

Factors Affecting Vital Signs
Influences that cause vital signs to go up or down, including exercise, stress/anxiety, pain, fever, medications, age, sleeping, illness, and body position.
Fever
A state when body temperature rises and the body tries to cool itself.

Physiological reactions during a fever, which include chills, sweating, faster heart rate, faster breathing, and dehydration.
Nursing Interventions for Fever
Care actions for managing a fever, including checking temperature, encouraging fluids if allowed, removing extra blankets, giving medications as ordered, monitoring vital signs, and watching for dehydration.

How much blood the heart pumps.

How tight or relaxed the blood vessels are.

How much blood is in the body.

How thick the blood is.

How strongly the heart squeezes.

How much blood fills the heart before it squeezes.
