What is matter?

Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass

What is a solid?

A solid is a state of matter that is a definite shape and volume; has tightly packed particles

that move mainly by vibrating

What is a liquid?

Matter with a definite volume but no definite shape that can flow from one place to another

What is viscosity?

A liquids resistance to flow

What is surface tension?

The uneven forces acting on the particles on the surface of a liquid

What is gas?

Matter that does not have a definite shape or volume has particles that move at high speeds

in all directions

what is thermal energy?

The sum of kinetic and potential energy the particles in a material

What is temperature?

Measure of the average kinetic energy of the individual particles of a substance

What is freezing?

change of matter from a liquid state to a solid state

What is vaporization?

change of a matter from a liquid state to a solid state

What is heat?

movement of thermal energy from a substance at a higher temperature to a lower temperature
