Similarities: Shirt and tie, shoes, kilts sometimes still seen in Ireland and can be a school costume
Differences: Costumes back then would be a kilt/jacket with a brooch and a shawl, but now they are just pants with a vest and cummerbund.

Differences: the skirt used to be more flowy but now it has more structure, it used to have heavy fabric, and they used to curl their natural hair but now they wear wig/crown.
