MICE
A sector of the tourism industry standing for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, where the public assembles for celebration, education, marketing, reunion, and other specific purposes.
Meetings
Formal gatherings of people who need to conduct business activities or hold a formal discussion, which may be internal or external.
Internal Meetings
Meetings held by members of companies, associations, and other types of organizations within the same group.
External Meetings
Meetings where members of an organization meet off-premises with clients, dealers, and other external partners.
Incentives
A segment of MICE promoting leisure that refers to travel rewards offered by an organization to staff, teams, partners, or customers for achieving set targets.
Conferences
Events held for large corporate groups, often called conventions, usually spanning several days to share insights, solve challenges, and build networks.
Exhibitions
Events where organizations promote and display new products, services, and information to the public and establish industry working relationships.
Events Management
The process of planning and executing an event or event program from initial planning to post-event reporting and analysis.
Planned Events
Events structured primarily on their form with clear differences in purpose and program, often requiring special-purpose facilities like convention centers or arenas.
Cultural and Festival Events
Events offering live performances, displays, parades, concerts, or entertainment centered on music, arts, drama, customs, or tradition.
Ati-Atihan Festival
A cultural festival celebrated in Kalibo, Aklan, every January, featuring street dancing and body painting in honor of Sto. Niño (Child Jesus).
Panagbenga Festival
A festival in Baguio City showcasing street dancing, float parades, cultural performances, and the region's abundance of flowers.

Religious Events
Events mainly focused on devotion, spiritual reconnection, or worship, such as pilgrimages, inaugurations, and retreats.
Feast of the Black Nazarene
A massive religious event held every January in Manila, centered around a life-sized, dark wooden statue of Jesus Christ carrying the cross.
Fundraising Events
Events staged to support a particular organization or initiative to help those affected by calamities or similar causes.
Run for Pasig River
An annual fundraising event aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action to clean and rehabilitate the Pasig River.
Merchandising Events
Also referred to as retail or promotional events, these present or introduce new products to increase brand reach, such as store openings and product launches.
Scholastic Events
Events aimed at educating, informing, discussing relevant issues, and exchanging ideas among an expert speaker and a smaller audience.
Workshop
A scholastic event where an expert speaker goes beyond discussion to provide attendees with a hands-on, applied experience.
Symposium
A formal scholastic meeting at which several experts deliver short, interrelated topics.
Colloquium
An academic meeting where experts deliver a topic and answer questions related to it.
Seminar
A scholastic event designed to provide participants with new knowledge, skills, or insights while encouraging interaction between attendees and presenters.
Local Events
Events targeting local audiences for social, fun, and entertainment value, fostering community pride without generating significant media coverage outside the area.
Major Events
Large-scale events with strong public interest and media coverage that attract visitors outside the local region to generate economic income.
Manila Food and Beverage Expo (MAFBEX)
A major event bringing together local and international exhibitors showcasing products across the food, beverage, and hospitality sectors.

Hallmark Events
Events significantly associated with the place they are held, functioning as tourism image builders that attract large visitor numbers and media attention.
