Nacelle Cabinet 2 (NC2)
A cabinet measuring 2200×1200×800mm that houses Control (MarkVle, Safety PLC), communication switches, ArcFlash monitor, Nacelle & Helihoist lights, and IP Phone.
Pitch system components
Includes 1 Central Box, 1 PITCH Auxiliary Box, 3 Axis boxes, 3 Ultracaps boxes, and 3 Motor+brakes.
Yaw system
Consists of 12 Dive Motors+gears and a YAW Cabinet measuring 2000×1200×400mm.
Nacelle Cabinet 4 (NC4)
The cabinet that provides power supply for the TC, Slip Rings, YAW, NC3, and the Cooling & Air conditioner system, while housing the input line from the AUX. Transformer.
Air Conditioning System (ACS)
System used to maintain internal air temperature and provide corrosion protection through Humidity Control, Salinity Filtering, and Overpressure generation.
SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-1200
The PLC used for the Air Conditioning System (ACS) which can be accessed via a web-interface using the IP-address 192.168.0.100.
Generator Cooling System Primary Side
A closed loop system where cold air is distributed 360∘ by the stator structure, utilizing 6 motor fans (3 on the left and 3 on the right heat exchangers).
Generator Cooling System Secondary Side
An open loop system that uses 4 motor fans to pull cold air from outside the nacelle (close to the blades) to cool the closed loop.
Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)
The device used to control the 10 fan motors of the Generator Cooling System via Profinet Protocol.
PDIST1
The component that receives 16 signals from 8 sensors distributed through the Generator Cooling System before they are communicated to the Mark VI.
Fast Cooling Mode
An automatic generator cooling mode that provides access to the generator within 30min.
Warm Up Mode
A mode with the goal to achieve a temperature of 10∘C above the dew point (TSG) after long periods of Idle mode.
Converter Transformer Cooling System
A unified water to air system that dissipates heat losses to ambient air using passive air heat exchangers and a water-glycol coolant mixture.
Slip ring
Component used for Signal Cu-to-FO (Copper to Fiber Optic), communications, and power transfer within the turbine.
HPU
The unit responsible for the rotor brake and locking pin, powered via Nacelle Cabinets 4 (NC4).
