Nucleus
Control center of the cell, containing genetic material (DNA).It regulates cellular activities and protects the DNA. DNA is organized into chromosomes, which determine an organism's traits. They also plays a role in protein synthesis by transcribing DNA into RNA. The nucleolus within the nucleus produces and assembles ribosomes, which are important for protein synthesis.

Material that makes up chromosomes.
Nucleolus
Structure within the nucleus involved in ribosome production.
Nuclear envelope
Double membrane surrounding the nucleus.
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
Network of membranes involved in protein synthesis.
