In Ireland the epa manages the impact of economic activity on the land and monitors water land soil and waste enforcing environmental laws

If a company produces more pollutants than permitted the epa can shut them down until they have made changes
Renewable energy
Renewable energy has helped to reduce industries over reliance on FF also decreasing the countries import bill
Wind energy
As renewable energy sources like wind and HEP develop they become more power and cost efficient. More affordable than FF

Wind farms
Wind farms are environmentally and financially friendly as wind companies land owners and investors all gain from them
Spin off
As well as reducing carbon emissions, wind farms have a spin off effect, creating jobs for locals to build and maintain them
Carbon footprint
Wind energy is both flexible and efficient, as factories can install small turbines, generating some of their electricity locally and reducing their carbon footprint
Government
The gov is also looking at more ways of managing natural non renewable resources such as peat
Outdoor lab
Raised big land is an important store of carbon, which helps to control green house gasses. Bogs act as an outdoor lab to stufy wildlife
Banned pest
As part of the EU directive, the Irish government was forced to ban the harvesting of peat.
