Sequence Position (n)
The position variable representing the term number in a sequence, taking values such as 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Linear Sequence Formula
An algebraic expression where n is to the first power, such as 4n, 3n+1, or 5n−8, used to generate terms of a sequence.
Negative Coefficient Sequence
A sequence generated by an algebraic formula containing a negative coefficient on n, such as 2−n, −3n, or −5n+3.
Quadratic Sequence Formula
An algebraic rule containing an n2 term, such as n2, n2+1, n2+5, or 2n2, used to determine terms in a non-linear sequence.
Cubic Sequence Formula
An algebraic rule containing an n3 term used to calculate sequence terms by cubing the term position n.
